St Margarets Church

Oasis is based at St Margaret’s Church. St Margaret’s, part of the Uxbridge Team Ministry, is situated right in the very heart of Uxbridge, at the top of Windsor Street, a matter of seconds away from the tube station. There are around 12-14000 people who live in the parish of Uxbridge at least that number again travel in to Uxbridge each day to work, shop or for other reasons. Our desire is to express the love of God to all.
Our vision as a parish is ‘to see lives in Uxbridge transformed through knowing God’s love and living Christ’s way’. As a church, we are committed to the transforming love of God through Jesus Christ and, as God works among us, we are seeking to grow in love in three specific ways:

Love For God

Worship and prayer lie at the very heart of our life as a church. St Margaret’s offers many different opportunities to worship and pray, some of which are outlined elsewhere in this website We are now ‘One Church with Many Congregations’. At the moment we have 6 regular congregations - 3 on Sundays and 3 during the week. Each congregation is different, with varying styles of worship and we encourage this as a way of engaging with different people, but we are held together by a common vision and commitment to core values.

Our vision is to continue to explore fresh expressions of church with a view to giving as many people as possible the opportunity to worship in a way that is relevant to them.

Love For One Another

We believe that loving one another is a foundational value for followers of Jesus Christ. With this in mind, St Margaret’s seeks to be a community where people love one another in tangible ways with the love that God gives us. Root Groups play an important role in enabling this to happen, where people meet together in groups of 10-12 with a view to learning to care for one another and supporting and encouraging on another in being followers of Jesus Christ day by day

We also believe that God gives each one of us passions and gifts. We actively encourage people to explore their gifts and passions especially through a ’Network’ course with a view to enabling them to use them in the way God intended.

Love For Our Neighbour

Mission and witness are natural expressions of God’s love. Our desire is to express God’s love to all, but especially to the following groups:

•  Residents of Uxbridge
•  Workers and Businesses in Uxbridge
•  Shoppers and visitors to Uxbridge
•  Poor and marginalized in our town
